Festival of Lights Navy Star Bursts Fabric
The Festival of Lights, the celebration of Hanukkah, brings light into the world as we enter the darker days of winter. It commemorates the miracle that happened in Jerusalem over 2000 years ago. The temple had been destroyed and there was only enough oil to keep the eternal flame lit for one day, however, it lasted for 8 days until more oil was found. The menorah is lit for 8 nights to remind us of the miracle. Children play with tops (dreidels) and win gold-foil coins filled with chocolate (gelt).
