Creative Ways to Use your Dream Big Panel for Applique

Most Creative - Honorable Mentions

We had so many creative ideas that were submitted for the contest. I wanted to share some of them with you. I hope you feel as inspired as I do by them. Thanks again for participating without you we would not have all this inspiration.

Catherine Flowers - Orchid Dream Big Panel with Laura Heine Bee Collage.

Catherine used 2 and 3 layers of wool batting to create a trapunto effect on the quilt and puff the petals. She pieced, collaged and quilted the piece. The center of the flower is the "heart" of the honey bee. Quilting is done with monofilament thread.

The finished piece is the Butterfly Dream. She used five spools of Superior thread to quilt the project: Magnifico 2084, 2141, 2140, 2002 as well as fantastico 5070.
