Where it all began...

A Lifelong Love of Fabric

Margo grew up making her own clothes. Her mother put a needle in her hand before she could read, and she didn’t own a store-bought dress until she was thirteen.

She studied fashion merchandising in college, but it was quilting that changed everything.

When she picked it up around 2000, she found more than a hobby. She found community, the kind of friendships that only form when people create things side by side.

When everything changed...

From Our Home to Yours

When the pandemic hit in 2020, demand exploded overnight. What had been a growing online business suddenly needed space, staff, and systems Margo never imagined.

Her entire house became a warehouse. Bolts of fabric filled every room, stacked in the bathtubs and lining the hallways. At the peak, over 4,000 bolts packed the house from floor to ceiling.

When the day finally came to move into an actual warehouse, everything was on wheels. The crew rolled the entire store out the front door and into a panel truck. We still call it “the quilt store on wheels,” and not much has changed. Everything is still on wheels to this day.

“Fabric is beautiful and cannot wait to make the quilt. I sent a picture of the layout of how quilt will look to one of my sons, who likes dragons. He said that it's totally cool looking and that is it going to be his. I said would you like it to be yours and he said "I wish". So I told him "Your wish is granted!!!" I told him I have to get my sewing table cleaned off and I'm not sure when I would get it done. He was ok with that, because he knows that I'm making it for him.”

I started this business because I truly love quilting and the friendships that come with it. Over the years, it’s become so much more than just a hobby for me, and building something around that just felt right.

One of the things that matters most to me is that our team feels like family. I want everyone here to feel connected, supported, and proud of the work they do. When you walk into our warehouse, it should feel like a small community where people care about each other.

That’s really what this is all about. Creating something meaningful together, making a difference in each other’s lives, and hopefully bringing a little bit of that same feeling to every customer we serve.
